Tamika Rowe, MPH, is a Lecturer in the Health Sciences Department at Central Washington University (CWU), where she brings more than a decade of experience in public health leadership, policy development, and health equity. Prior to joining CWU, she held key roles at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Georgia Department of Public Health. Her career has centered on advancing initiatives in patient safety, quality improvement, and community health outcomes, with a focus on addressing systemic disparities in healthcare access and delivery.
At CWU, Ms. Rowe is committed to equipping students with the skills and critical perspective necessary to address the social, structural, and policy determinants of health. Her teaching emphasizes the importance of leadership, ethics, and equity in shaping public health systems and promoting community well-being.

Research Interests
Ms. Rowe’s professional and research interests focus on the intersection of health policy and healthcare disparities, particularly as they affect Black women’s health. She is also deeply engaged in environmental health justice, reproductive health rights, mental health equity, hospital management, and healthcare education. Her work reflects a commitment to advancing equitable and sustainable health systems that improve outcomes for historically marginalized populations.
