About Katy
Katy Williams has been teaching in CWU’s Health Sciences department for 5+ years. Prior to coming to CWU she worked as a dietitian in both the private and public sectors. In addition to being a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), she holds a MS degree in Integrative Human Physiology, is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
Katy’s primary role is to oversee CWU’s Dietetic Internship. During the internship, dietetic interns accrue over 1,000 hours of supervised practice and are placed in a variety of professional nutrition-related work settings. She is particularly proud of the fact that most interns secure jobs within mere weeks after graduation.
In addition to directing the dietetic internship, Katy also teaches many courses in the Nutrition and Health Sciences department. Katy enjoys spending time with her husband and her two young children and exploring the Pacific Northwest. She especially loves alpine and waterskiing.
