Dr. Foch’s research focuses on the neuromechanics of running. It is his career’s research pursuit to study the neuromechanical factors associated with the etiology of overuse knee injuries in female runners and reduce injury recurrence rates. As an associate professor at a regional comprehensive university, Dr. Foch integrates his research experiences in the biomechanics classes that he teaches. Beyond traditional course work, Dr. Foch has mentored and trained students interested in the biomechanics research process via independent studies. These students have been instrumental in collecting data using CWU’s three-dimensional motion capture and electromyography systems in their state-of-the-art neuromuscular biomechanics laboratory.
