Get to know our Faculty and Staff
Before beginning her teaching career at CWU in 2024, Charlene Mize spent her career in healthcare: WIC Coordinator/RDN at Community Health of Central Washington, Ellensburg (2012–2018), Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy at Community Health of Central Washington, Ellensburg (2016-2021). Infusion Care Dietitian at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital (tube feeding support), 2021-2024. In these healthcare roles she has loved learning how to best connect with and support patients and their loved ones. Now as an Instructor, she’s eager to guide and support students as they build their own health and nutrition knowledge.

Research Interests
Charlene Mize loves learning about people's motivations for acting on and improving their health, and what personal and structural barriers get in people's way. She is specifically interested in Child and Maternal Health and Public Health.
