I received a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago and a BA in Political Economy from University of California, Berkeley.

What recognition and or award(s) have you been given?

Co-Founder of the CWU Investment Group. 2018 Advisory Board Award for Faculty Excellence in Professional Service.

Please describe your teaching philosophy in 1-2 sentences.

My primary goals as an instructor are to (1) Build lasting personal and professional value for my students; (2) Strongly encourage student success in my courses; and (3) Treat students with respect.

Investments, Introductory Financial Management, Investment Fundamentals, Personal Finance, Finance Beyond Wall Street, International Finance, Introductory Business Statistics

Projects, Exams, Presentations, Homework, Discussion posts, Investing games.

What is the advice you would give to a student to succeed in your course?

Get to know me and your classmates, work together with your classmates in study groups, actively participate in class, and practice your homework to help prepare for exams.
