Charles X. Li received his undergraduate and graduate training in three countries--China, New Zealand, and the United States. He earned his M.A. in Linguistics and Literature at the University of Canterbury and Ph.D. at the University of Missouri-Columbia, specializing in linguistics, TESOL, linguistic approaches to literature, and the history of the English language. He has over 42 years of full-time college-level teaching experience, first at Zhengzhou University, then at Adams State University, and since 1996 at Central Washington University, teaching courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Li was founder of and advisor for the Linguistics Minor program and served as graduate coordinator for the M.A. TESOL program. He is editor, with Luis López and Tom Stroik, of Papers from 1997 Mid-America Linguistics Conference, translator of three novels from English to Chinese, and author of numerous articles on linguistics, stylistics, TESOL, and historical metrics. He currently serves as Coordinator of the English Language and Literature program.
