About Jo

Joseph Gabriel Davey (he/she/they) is the Administrative Assistant for Office of the Dean of the College of the Sciences. In their role, Jo supports educators and students, providing clerical and administrative support as liaison to the Dean’s Office, Advising, and departmental administrative teams. Jo also leads the outreach for the Dean’s Office, drafting content and managing the Office's social media, webpages, and newsletter.

Background

Before joining the College of the Sciences in May 2026, Jo graduated from CWU in 2024 with their B.S. Public Policy and B.A. Political Science. At the undergraduate level, they worked on applied physics projects including high-altitude ballooning and high-powered rocketry. Their background also includes political advocacy at the intersection of higher education policy, previously serving as the student Director for Governmental Affairs at CWU, the President of the Washington Student Association, and a Committee Member on the Public Transit Advisory Committee of the City of Ellensburg.

For Fun

Outside of work, Jo enjoys life with their wife, child, and two cats. Driven by a lifelong love of learning, they are drawn to the arts, humanities, and both social and natural sciences. Jo fills their free time with road and gravel cycling, watercolor painting, Chinese calligraphy, music, and knitting. Jo would love a chance to practice one of the four languages they speak.
