Dr. Miriam Bocchetti has served as the director of the CWU CAMP program since 2007 and in the role of Principal Investigator (PI) of both CWU HEP and CAMP since 2013. She is now the director of grants at CWU, overseeing five federal grant programs: HEP, CAMP, TRiO SSS, and two EOC programs.

Dr. Bocchetti earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Washington, enrolling at Central soon after to pursue her master’s degree in English Literature. She recently completed her Ph.D at Colorado State University in Higher Education Leadership. The topic of her dissertation was the persistence experiences of first year Latinx migrant students in the CAMP program.

Miriam is currently serving as the HEP CAMP Association President, providing guidance, support, and advocacy to the more than 100 HEP and CAMP programs across the nation. She has also served as a member of the HEP CAMP national conference planning committee since 2009 and as a HEP CAMP mentor for many years. She is also a founding member of the Latinx Alumni board at CWU, a body which focuses on engaging Latinx alumni.

Miriam loves to read, travel, listen to podcasts and play trivia. She also loves her cat, Penelope, and going to concerts and comedy shows.
