Human and women's rights activist Loretta Ross will share her expertise on women's issues, racism and human rights on April 18th at 6PM in the SURC Theatre.  Her work focuses on the intersectionality of social justice issues and how this transforms social change. Co-founder and former National Coordinator of the Sister Song Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective,  Ms. Ross  describes her own lived experience as a rape and sterilization abuse survivor, to illustrate the traumas that disproportionately affect low-income women of color. She emphasizes the transformative power of reproductive justice activism to build a Human Rights movement that includes everyone. Her presentation  "Reproductive Justice as Human Rights" uses human rights as a lens through which to understand and moblize around women's rights at a time in which women's reproductive lives are imperiled.
