The Wellness Center advises three different clubs on campus: Active Minds, the Recovery Outreach Community, and the Violence Prevention Club. 


Positions Available


To volunteer with the Wellness Center, you must be a CWU student and sign up in our office (SURC 139). Volunteers can sign up to assist with specific events or for general health promotion initiatives. *Volunteer positions are unpaid



To intern with the Wellness Center, you must be a CWU student and sign up the quarter prior to the quarter you wish to start your internship. Before starting your internship, you will meet with a professional staff member to outline your learning objectives, weekly schedule, office expectations and to identify a focus area (Alcohol and Recovery, Marijuana Tobacco and other drugs, Diet Nutrition and Exercise, Violence Prevention, Sexual Health, Mental Health).You will be expected to spend a minimum of two hours a week in the office and/or helping with Wellness Center events.
Some activities you may engage in during your internship include:

  • Program/ topic area research
  • Assist with learning objectives for topic area
  • Co-facilitate programs with Peer Health Educators
  • Help create passive programming initiatives
  • Assist staff with program evaluation
  • Opportunities for creating new health initiatives and programs
  • *Positions are unpaid


Peer Health Educator:

To become a Peer Health Educator in the Wellness Center, you must be a CWU student and apply through Human Resources in the Spring quarter for the following academic year. You must submit a resume and cover letter, and go through the interview process to be hired. This is a paid position.
