Create a Webform

Step 1: Select Add Content in the Right-Navigation menu.

Step 2: Select Webform.

Step 3: Enter a Title.

Step 4: Place instructions or relevant information in the Body.

Step 5: Select Save.

Step 6: Select Publish. Choose a date and time for publication, and then select Publish.

Settings

Revision Information: This setting provides a revision log. Using the revision log allows you to leave messages saying what you changed.

URL Path Settings: Your Page name is by default set to generate its web address according to the page title. If you wish to provide a specific web address for your page, enter it here. Use care to not use a path name already in use. If you receive an error or need assistance, contact the Web Team.

In this example, the basic page would have a new web address of cwu.edu/[department name]/Graduation.

Form Components

Under the Webform tab, select Form components.

Textfield

The textfield component is the standard "box" for getting input from the user.

Step 1: Select the Textfield component type.

The TextArea is a larger Textfield.

Step 1: Select the TextArea component type.

E-mail

Used to get the user's E-mail address.

Provide a list of options to choose from.

Markup

Used to provide information in a Webform.

Page Break

Used to seperate components into seperate pages.

Provides a pop-up Calendar to select the Date.

Step 1: Select the Fieldset component type.

Common Settings

Default Value

This gives a starting value for the component. It is highly recommended that a Placeholder is used instead.

This will show grayed out text in the component, but will not be submitted as a value.

Description

This gives a description or instructions under the component.

If selected, the Webform will not submit until there is a value in this component.

Moving Components

Step 1: Click and hold the arrows to the left of the component you wish to move.

E-mail Settings

E-mail rules send notifications whenever there is a submission. Under the Webform tab, select E-mails.

Creating a Rule

Step 1: Enter E-mail addresses seperated by commas (,) in the Address box.

Step 2: Select Add.

Step 3: Under the section E-mail from address, select Component and select the E-mail component of your form.

Step 4: Select Save e-mail settings.

Verification E-mail

Step 1: Select Component value and choose the E-mail component of your Webform.

Confirmation Message

This message will appear in place of the default message when someone submits the form.

Step 1: Under the Webform tab, select Form settings.

Step 2: Enter your message into the Confirmation message section.

Closing a Form

Rather than delete a form, closing a form will not allow any submissions until it is Opened again. It is advised to change the form header to reflect this.

Step 1: Navigate to Form Settings. (See Confirmation Message)

Step 2: Select Closed under Status of this form.
