Undergraduate Journals

Undergraduate Journals provide the opportunity for students to publish their creative works, research, and other forms of scholarship. 

CWU + Pacific University’s International Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (IJURCA) - https://ijurca-pub.org/

The International Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the publication of outstanding scholarship by undergraduates and their mentors. IJURCA accepts submissions of research articles, fiction, poetry, photography, video, and other creative work from undergraduate students in all academic disciplines. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, to be published online after successful review.

Business and Economics

“The Journal for Global Business and Community is a multidisciplinary e-journal dedicated to serving those participating in and affected by the global economy. It offers undergraduate students a venue for publishing works that explores the functional dimensions of global business organizations and discusses relationships between these businesses and the global economy."

“The SS-AAEA journal consists of agricultural economics articles written and submitted by undergraduate students to the annual AAEA undergraduate paper competition. The Journal provides an excellent opportunity for students to list a professional publication on their resume. The articles are considered of peer-reviewed quality in that they are reviewed by established researchers and are deemed to address an important topic using appropriate scientific methodology.” 
 

English and Creative Writing

“Undergraduate Research in Writing and Rhetoric is an international peer-reviewed journal. It publishes research and theoretical articles by undergraduates of all majors and years on the subjects of rhetoric, writing, writers, discourse, language, and related topics.” 

“The Sigma Tau Delta journals publish annually the best writing and criticism of undergraduate and graduate active chapter members of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society.” 

“The Allegheny Review, now entering its 36th year of publication, is one of America’s few nationwide literary magazines dedicated exclusively to undergraduate works of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and artwork. Published annually, the periodical showcases some of the best literature the nation’s undergraduates have to offer.” 
 

Evolutionary Studies

“As an outlet for academic articles, EvoS Journal has two particular aims. The first is to publish peer-reviewed articles related to evolutionary theory in higher education. The second is to publish undergraduate peer-reviewed articles that have arisen from courses offered through Evolutionary Studies Programs.” 
 

Health and Human Sciences

“The URC Undergraduate Research Journal is an annual online national, reviewed journal dedicated to the publication of undergraduate student research. The twofold purpose of the journal is to foster and reward the scholarly efforts of undergraduate human sciences students as well as to provide a valuable learning experience.” 

“The Columbia Undergraduate Science Journal (CUSJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic publication. We are committed to publishing manuscripts from significant scientific research and analysis. Each CUSJ paper undergoes a peer review process facilitated by the CUSJ Editorial Board and Columbia faculty. Publication in the CUSJ is highly competitive.” 

“As the first peer-reviewed undergraduate journal dedicated to international science scholarship, JYI engages students in research, publishing, and creative science communication while fostering a culture of personal and professional development.”
 

Mathematics

“Involve showcases and encourages high-quality mathematical research involving students from all academic levels. The editorial board consists of mathematical scientists committed to nurturing student participation in research.” 

“PUMP (Preparing Undergraduate Mathematicians for Ph.D.s) Journal of Undergraduate Research publishes articles written by undergraduate students that want to pursue doctoral studies in the Mathematical Sciences.” 
 

Multidisciplinary

“The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is an organization of members from around the world. CUR members share a focus on providing high-quality and collaborative undergraduate research, scholarly, and creative activity opportunities for faculty and students.” 

“JUR is a peer-reviewed, undergraduate journal registered with the Library of Congress that accepts submissions of any subject, from any undergraduate institution. We receive hundreds of submissions for publication every year, from institutions ranging from small liberal arts colleges to international institutions. The review process for publication includes peer, graduate, and faculty referees, ensuring that the Journal publishes competitive material that follows the Journal’s standards for academic, creative, and passionate work.” 

“Curated by librarians and their institutions, the Undergraduate Research Commons includes award-winning capstone projects, faculty-mentored research, multi-media collections, student journals, presentations and peer-reviewed scholarship from hundreds of undergraduate institutions.” 

“The Journal for Undergraduate Ethnography (JUE) is an online publication for undergraduate academic writing. The JUE seeks to publish original ethnographic research by undergraduate students working in a variety of disciplines. Our goal is to bring readers insights into subcultures, practices, and social institutions. We expect crossovers with anthropology, sociology, urban studies, and area studies, as well as programs in education, design, or management.” 

“The journal seeks papers that are novel, integrative, and written in a way that is accessible to a wide audience which includes an array of disciplines. The content of the journal ranges from Applied research to Theoretical research. In general, papers are welcomed from all topics.” 

“Perspectives on Undergraduate Research and Mentoring (PURM) is an open-access, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed online journal supporting the mission of undergraduate research and the programs that strive to provide undergraduate students opportunities to participate in scholarly activities with faculty mentors.” 
 

Psychology

“The Journal of Undergraduate Ethnic Minority Psychology is an edited and refereed on-line journal devoted to publishing empirical research (quantitative and qualitative) authored or co-authored by university undergraduate students.” 

“UJOP welcomes, reviews, and publishes manuscripts about topics in Psychology and Psychology-related fields. Interdisciplinary research is highly valued and encouraged, but should retain a close connection to Psychology.”
