Erin Black

CWU anthropology alumna Erin Black is the chief executive officer of The Memorial Foundation, Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital’s philanthropic partner. She joined the foundation in summer 2015 and most recently served as its director of philanthropy.

Previously, she was the Yakima YWCA executive director, a position in which she has served since 2009. Black has also worked with the Downtown Yakima Rotary, and Safe Yakima Valley, which works to reduce crime through education and substance abuse reduction efforts.

Since 2011, she has also headed up the 100 Jobs for 100 Kids program, designed to help high school students increase their work skills; and she has chaired and serves as an executive board member for a Yakima homeless network. Black also received a masters degree from Seattle University in Nonprofit Leadership, MNPL.

Her six-year term on the CWU BOT will continue through September 2021.
