Diversity Commitment and Concrete Actions

The department produces several shows each season, both on the main stage and in studio (workshop) settings. The opportunities allow students to put classroom theory into practice as part of the regular season of Central Theatre Ensemble, the production wing of the department. To further prepare for future employment or graduate school, all students are strongly encouraged to pursue off-campus practical experience through TH 490: Cooperative Education (Internship).

Students in our programs have completed internships with Seattle Musical Theatre, The 5th Ave Theatre (Seattle, WA), Disneyland and Disney World. They have been invited to participate in international tours (Italy and Bulgaria) in addition to securing employment with a number of theatre opportunities such as: Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre (ID), Midtown Arts (Fort Collins, CO), Centerstage Theatre (Seattle, WA), Virginia City Players (MT), Artists Repertory Theatre (Portland, OR), Northwest Classical Theatre (Portland, OR), Portland Center Stage (OR), Idaho Shakespeare Repertory (Boise),  ArtsWest Theatre (Seattle, WA), The Old Globe (San Diego, CA), Steppenwolf Theatre (Chicago, IL), Santa Fe Opera (NM), and Williamstown Theatre Festival (MA).
