Red Curtain Broadway Revue Promises to Be a “Truly Magical Experience”
The Central Theatre Ensemble will once again bring back some of Broadway’s most memorable musical moments in its annual Red Curtain Broadway Revue.
The Revue will feature hits from musical blockbusters such as Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, and Phantom of the Opera.
Choreographed, directed, and performed by Central Washington University musical theatre bachelor of fine arts (BFA) students, the production combines the enthusiasm and exuberance of youth with professional stage skills, along with serious talent. The stage manager is design BFA senior Erin Thatcher, and the show will be lighted by other volunteer design BFA students. More than 30 students will participate in the Revue.
“I can honestly say that this year’s Revue is the highest quality we have ever put forth in my time here and the audience is in for a truly magical experience,” said Dustyn Moir, a senior pursuing a BFA-musical theatre performance degree.
Whitney Ward, another senior in the musical theatre BFA program, chimed in, “I [also] think this is going to be the best Revue we have had thus far. The new students are incredibly promising and our department, as a whole, seems determined to blow the audience away.”
The Red Curtain Broadway Revue will be performed November 21, 22, and 23 at 7:30 p.m., and November 24 at 2 p.m., in the Milo Smith Tower Theatre. General admission is $10, $8 for seniors, and students and $7 for CWU students w/ID.
