Nick Ligon

Nick Ligon(Lecturer) Born and raised in Upstate New York, Nick Ligon obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Immediately after graduating he joined Jim Henson’s Sid the Science Kid Live! national tour as lighting supervisor and technical director. While studying towards an MFA at Temple University in Philadelphia, he created and taught courses in lighting technology and 3D Vectorworks, in addition to designing lights for seven main stage productions over three years. Professional work includes four summer seasons as the lighting programmer for Bard College’s SummerScape Festival; working with groups such as the American Symphony Orchestra, New York City Ballet, Trisha Brown Dance Company, as well as various operas and music festivals. Recent work includes programming for The Magnetic Fields at Union Transfer in Philadelphia as well as working as the associate lighting designer on Jerry’s Girls at the Walnut Street Theatre’s Studio 3 space.
