Academic Concerns & Dispute Resolution

The Office of Academic Concerns & Dispute Resolution exists to help CWU students with academic problems, conflicts, or concerns. The Director serves as a non-legal "ombudsman" to hear complaints, coach aggrieved students in effective conflict resolution communication, and, when necessary, mediate to help students and faculty arrive at fair and sustainable solutions.The Director also facilitates the academic appeal and grievance processs, the Academic Early Alert system, and other Academic Success special projects. Additionally, the Director of Academic Success collaborates with Faculty Senate, assists faculty in resolving student academic concerns, and meets with individual students facing academic challenges.

Academic Suspension Appeal Deadline for Fall 2021:

The next deadline for early fall decisions on Academic Suspension Appeals is at noon on Friday, August 13, 2021. The Academic Standing Committee will review appeals on Monday, 8/23/21, with email notification of decisions to students no later than 5:00 on Tuesday, 8/24/21.
