Hiring Process

Criminal Background Check

Hiring ProcessCriminal background checks are completed on all employees, including students. Checks may also completed on interns and volunteers.
HireRight has been contracted by the university to conduct the background checks.
The check is typically only conducted on the top candidate for each position and the candidate must authorize the background check before it can be run. Students under the age of 18, must provide authorization by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Hiring Department contacts Human Resources to request the background check be completed.
  • Candidate will receive an email from HireRight with instructions.
  • Candidate logs in to HireRight, enters requested information, and authorizes background check.

Employment offers are conditional on a completed and reviewed background check.
