Essential Functions: 
The CLCE copy writer-editor will create and review copy for administrative use and public distribution. This position is a blend of technical, business and public relations writing and will include working on official correspondences, event advertisements, project summaries and more.
Necessary Skills: 
The individual selected for this position will have an in-depth knowledge of English grammar and syntax as well as an ability to write clearly and concisely with a professional, creative voice. Strong applicants will be proficient with Word, Excel, InDesign and Photoshop and familiar with the AP and Chicago manuals of style.
Purpose of Position: 
To imbue all copy that officially represents the CLCE with a consistent, professional tone and quality.
Educational Benefits: 
This position will help the student develop his or her professional writing skills and portfolio. The student will learn vital social aspects to being a professional writer, such as how to write in teams, conduct an interview, navigate proper publishing procedures, and work amicably with non-writers. During winter quarter, a senior writer-editor help the student become comfortable and familiar with the position. Senior staff may also provide some training, if necessary. After winter quarter, the student will be entrusted as the sole writer-editor for the CLCE.
