Taller De "Conozca Sus Derechos" / Immigration: Know Your Rights

The Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP), will lead the Central Washington Event PosterUniversity "Immigration: Know Your Rights" presentation on Saturday, January 28. Mirta Laura Contreras, NWIRP directing attorney will lead the discussion. Contreras has represented farm workers and immigrants in employment and family law cases, as well as representing clients in removal defense cases.

The free presentation, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) 137 is designed to help community members answer questions or concerns they have about their rights, such as what to do when approached by police or immigration officials. It will include a question-and-answer panel, and free consultations offered by attorneys and other legal representatives.

The presentation will be conducted in Spanish.

This event is sponsored by the Center for Leadership and Community Development, Student Involvement, Center for Diversity and Social Justice, and Social Justice & Human Rights Dialogues.
