Science Honors Research Program: Student Eligibility

 


The Science Honors Research program is intended to foster the career development of CWU undergraduate students who have an aptitude for research in science fields.

To be eligible for the Science Honors Research Program, a student must:

        and

  • Have declared a major in their scientific discipline at the time of application (winter quarter).

Preference will be given to students that:

  • Have a Grade Point Average of 3.0 in discipline related courses at the time of application (see application form for the GPA calculation).

           and

  • Have completed 11 credits of upper division course work in their major at the time at the time of application.

or

  • Have completed 11 credits of upper division course work in their major at the time at the time of entry to the program (spring quarter), on the condition that they have maintained a 3.0 cumulative and discipline-specific GPA.

Although faculty may mentor more than one student in the program, full funding from the Science Honors Research Program is usually limited to one student per faculty mentor in any one round of applicants.
