ESL Everyday Dialogues and Discussions - B

This intermediate level course is designed to develop conversational skills necessary to function in American society. Lessons will focus on specific topics important for everyday life in the United States, introducing and expanding relevant vocabulary, with an emphasis on key phrases and idiomatic expressions used in each setting. Students will be encouraged to practice sample dialogues and participate in role plays using target language.

Lessons in this class will focus on the following topics:

  • Job Interview: Skills, personality traits, and qualifications; Preparing for an interview; Interviewing for a job
  • Eating Out: Choosing a place to eat; Ordering pizza/fast food; Ordering at a restaurant; Food and menu vocabulary
  • Cars: Getting a car repaired; Road Rage reading
