Lecturer Application Process

If you are interested in teaching a College in the High School/Cornerstone course, contact us at 509-963-1351 or at By contacting us, we can answer any questions you may have about the application process.

Items needed for the application process:

  • Cover Letter addressing academic program (if you are applying for more than one discipline (ex. math and biology) please provide a cover letter for each.
  • Current resume or C.V. outlining specific content expertise
  • CWU Application (click here for the application)
  • Three letters of recommendation (one from current supervisor)
  • Unofficial transcripts (copies from your district office are acceptable)

When your completed application is received by the Running Start office, CWU’s appropriate academic department will evaluate the application materials.  Application review timelines vary between departments. The Running Start office will contact you via US mail upon completion of the review process. If you have not received a letter within 6 weeks, please contact our office.  

Once you have been accepted, it is required that you attend a one day Summer Institute Training Session that is put on by the Running Start office. The Summer Institutes are regionally located all over the state of Washington, making them easy and accessible to attend. You will receive an email early spring notifying you when and where the Summer Institutes will be located.
