The CWU Retirement Association (CWURA) is a vibrant group of individuals who enjoy the opportunity to explore more leisurely pursuits, while continuing to participate in the CWU community. The CWURA provides many ways of doing so, including informal gatherings, educational and pleasurable excursions, lectures, and informational programs for retirees.

Joins us for our annual travel presentation when we welcome again Professor Rosco Tolman as our presenter as he shares his travels along the Camino de Santiago, a 500-mile pilgramage route in France and Spain.

CWURA Brewery Tour of the CWU Craft Brewing Research Lab

You are invited to join the CWURA for pizza and beer with the CWU Craft Brewing Program.  We will tour their facility and learn from students and faculty in this unique program.

The purpose of the CWURA is to provide continuing social, emotional, and intellectual engagement while maintaining treasured relationships with friends and former colleagues. You can retain important ties with the university, and support the university’s continuing efforts to provide service to students and society. While learning about key issues that are often encountered by retirees—including retirement and financial and estate planning.

Ongoing Events

Wildcat Walkers still going strong!  Wildcat Walkers are an Ellensburg walking group for CWU retirees and friends.  Walks are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Mondays at the Irene Rinehart Park bridge parking lot at 10:00 a.m. during fall and winter.  For more information or to get on their mailing list, contact Virginia Mack at

First Friday Coffee
Retirees and friends enjoy informal gatherings each First Friday.
Please join us for each First Friday for refreshments and camaraderie at 9:30 a.m. at the Dakota Cafe on Pearl Street in Ellensburg.  Bring ideas to share about what activities you would like to see the CWURA plan for retirees.

CWURA Interest Groups.  What to form a targeted interest group for retirees?  Contact the CWURA about forming a group, arranging for email notices and meeting spaces on campus.
