CWUP 2-60-050 Center for Teaching and Learning Advisory Council

Reports to the center for teaching and learning (CTL) executive board and recommends policies and procedures for strengthening and improving public school professional preparation programs. The CTL advisory council is charged by the CTL executive board to lead the efforts of all CTL subcommittees by collegially coordinating all programs at CWU designed to prepare education professionals to work in P-12 schools. Guided by the unit's conceptual framework, the CTL advisory council's primary responsibilities are assessment, data interpretation, policy analysis, curriculum reviews and recommendations, faculty professional development, and school partnerships.

17 ex-officio [CTL director; associate dean of CAH; associate dean of COTS; associate dean of CEPS; assessment committee chair; candidate admissions, recruitment, and retention committee chair; certification office program manager; diversity and equity committee chair; educational technology advisory council chair; elementary education advisory council chair; faculty development and candidate scholarship committee chair; graduate programs committee chair; P-12 school based services committee chair; professional core program coordinator; CEPS undergraduate curriculum committee co-chair, CAH undergraduate curriculum committee co-chair; COTS undergraduate curriculum committee co-chair] 6 appointed [3 members appointed by the CTL executive board in consultation with the CTL director to ensure representation from each of the three colleges, CAH, COTS, and CEPS. 2 appointed students [one undergraduate student member and one graduate student member from CTL degree programs, appointed by the CTL executive board in consultation with the CTL director. 1 public school representative, appointed by the CTL executive board in consultation with the CTL director.]
