Research & Sponsored Programs and Foundation Relations would like to announce the recipients of the following grants and contracts that were awarded in September 2019. Below are this month’s awardees:
- Paul Ballard, College of Education and Professional Studies, received $4,000 from the Professional Educator Standards Board for PEAB Meeting Support (Teacher; Administrator).
- Carol Findley, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), received an additional $23,004 from the Washington State Department of Commerce/WARSVPD for RSVP Program Support, 2019-20.
- Traci Goff, Foundation Relations, received two awards:
- $2,000 from the Shoemaker Foundation for student scholarships;
- $10,000 from the Puyallup Tribe of Indians for student scholarships.
- Rachel Gordon, International Studies and Programs, received $9,450 from Tokyo Gakugei University for Short-Term Education/PE Program.
- Rachel Gordon, International Studies and Programs, received $3,080 from the University of Shimane–Izumo for WorldCat Summer Institute 2019.
- Steven Hackenberger, Anthropology, received $8,969 from River View Electric for Batterman Industrial Park Archaeology.
- Greg Lyman; Engineering Technologies, Safety, and Construction; received an additional $37,138 from the National Science Foundation/University of Washington for Hybrid Experimental-Numerical Methodology and Field Calibration for Characterization of Peak Wind Effects on Low-Rise Buildings and Their Appurtenances.
- Sathy Rajendran and Jennifer Serne; Engineering Technologies, Safety, and Construction; received $10,000 from the Association for Iron & Steel Technology Foundation for Safety Management (Development of Steel Manufacturing Plant Specific Safety Plan Case Study).
- Maura Valentino, Library, received $1,000 from the Washington State Library for Professional Development: Open Education Conference.
