Recreation

Special Events

Recreation hosts a variety of Special Events throughout the year. Some are competitive, but most are just great social activities to add to your college experience. Events range from fitness and skills competitions to fundraisers within the community. These popular events are a great way to get active and meet new people.

Drop-In Play Archery Tag (1/10, 1/17, & 1/24 | 7 - 9 pm)

Archery tag is essentially like a game of dodgeball (or paintball) played with bows and arrows! Most often we play in team scenarios with plenty of objects to use for cover. Come by yourself or bring some friends and play archery tag for free!

Archery Tag is also open for rental reservations! Contact jordan.bishop2@cwu.edu for pricing details.

Start your 2019 off right by signing up for the CWU Recreation Indoor Ironman Challenge. Participants have the month of February to accumulate 112 miles biking, 2.4 miles swimming, and 26.2 miles running. Cost is $15/participant.

Join us at the Competitors info meeting Wednesday January 30th @ 5:30pm for a Q&A and event information (*not required*).

Divisions:

This year we are changing up the Iron Man competition a little bit to offer a more personalized experience. We will be offering four divisions to the competition this year. These divisions will be recreational, woman’s, elite and masters.

The recreational division will be the same as the competition from last year with the winners receiving a 2018-19 CWU Intramurals championship shirt.

The woman’s division will be just for women to go against each other in the competition. The winners will receive a 2018-19 CWU Intramurals championship shirt.

The elite division will be for people who want to go head to head with other competitors to see who the grand champion Iron Man of CWU is. The winner will get a 2018-19 CWU Intramurals championship shirt and a secret prize. Finally, the winner will be honored as the first ever Iron Man of Central Washington University! They will have their picture posted in the rec center along with the time it took for them to complete the competition. Do you have what it takes to become the grand champion Iron Man of CWU?

The masters division will be for people 50 and older to go against each other in the competition. The winners of this division will receive a 2018-19 CWU Intramurals championship shirt.

Groups:

If you would like to be placed into a special group to go head to head with your friends you can send us an email at im.sports@cwu.edu and we will work on getting that done for you.
