Climbing Wall

The University Recreation Climbing Wall stands 50-feet at its highest point and offers climbers an excellent mental and physical workout.

Whether you are new to climbing or you have been doing it for years, the CWU Climbing Wall offers clinics and classes that will suit your needs. We offer one to two day clinics on technical skills and movement technique for many levels of experience as well as quarter-long classes, which can be taken for college credit.

Welcome to CWU Recreation's new webpage!

On June 23, Kittitas County moved into phase 3 of Washington state’s four-phase Safe Start plan. While recreational facilities are allowed to be open under phase 3, CWU’s Recreation Center will remain closed to the public until September 1.

This decision was made out of an abundance of caution. We, like all businesses and Washingtonians, must prevent any further spread of COVID-19 as the state gradually reopens. We wish to do our part to allow for a successful, safe start for the 2020 fall quarter.

Starting July 1, Outdoor Pursuits & Rentals (OPR) will begin providing services to those who would like to rent outdoor equipment. Hours of operation will be Monday - Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Please call (509) 963-3537 before arriving and maintain physical distancing during pick up and drop off.
