PUSH

When did CWU begin working with PUSH?

Presidents United to Solve Hunger (PUSH) is a national effort to encourage college and university presidents to commit to fighting hunger. At the urging of faculty, staff, and students, previous CWU President, James Gaudino, signed the commitment in 2015. The CWU PUSH chapter is committed to reducing hunger and resource insecurity on campus.

How has it changed?

The previous PUSH committee has now relaunched to a Wildcat Essentials Coalition to bridge and leverage campus resources together. This new dynamic will expand our reach and impact.

6 Student PUSH officers.

Does the PUSH club still manage the Wildcat Pantry?

The Wildcat Pantry started as a student led initiative through the PUSH club and is now transitioning to new leadership under the Wildcat Pantry Coordinator (WPC). The addition of a full time coordinator demonstrates the power in student activism and mobilization.

The WPC is housed in the President's Office.

to ensure the pantries are sustainable, properly funded, and the prioritization of basic needs security is upheld across campus. The WPC will work closely with the PUSH club to amplify and improve essential services for the student body.
