Ever wanted to know what it takes to be a better leader? Here’s your chance! The CWU Equity Services Council (ESC) is hosting a Leadership Retreat Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 24 from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the SURC Ballroom. This retreat is free for Central students, faculty and staff and light refreshments will be provided.
By attending, members of the Central community will have the opportunity to work with several campus organizations through activities and discussions geared to boost leadership skills. Guest speaker Mara Ventura, organizing director of the Washington Student Association, will guide attendees through two workshops designed to give everyone a greater awareness of what they can do as leaders to benefit their community. And since every good leader knows when to lighten up and have fun, there will be refreshments and dancing Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.!
So whether you’re just figuring out what being a leader means or you have experience taking charge in a group, the Leadership Retreat is the perfect place to learn new skills and ideas to benefit the community.
