Health and Safety Council
The Health and Safety Council reports to the cabinet through the Vice President of Operations. Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 296-800-130 requires the establishment of a safety council to communicate and evaluate safety and health issues identified by the council or by employees in the workplace. In doing so, the council will:
- Provide the Environmental Health and Safety Manager supportive assistance in the development of university–wide safety and health policies and procedures
- Provide the Environmental Health and Safety Manager assistance in identifying unsafe conditions and practices
- Evaluate the CWU workplace accident and illness prevention program and discuss recommendations for improvement

Meetings occur monthly on the last Tuesday of the month at 9:00 am and are held virtually. All CWU faculty, staff, students, and members of the community are welcome to attend.
