Initiation

CWU’s Initiation Ceremony is held during June to initiate and honor the year’s inductees. Information on the ceremony is emailed to new members, and all members and their families are encouraged to attend. Faculty members are also encouraged to support their students as they accept this honor.

At the ceremony, inductees are awarded with personalized membership certificate and the official Phi Kappa Phi pin, as well as a member card to authenticate membership in the Society.

Dress code is business casual. Students who will be graduating should wear commencement regalia, including cap and gown. Upcoming graduates are also encouraged to wear Phi Kappa Phi regalia, including the honor cord, medallion, and stole.

The 2017 induction ceremony is on June 9th in the Music Recital Hall Building. The new student members are required to be there at 3:45  to line up. The ceremony starts at 4:00 and last for about 45-60 minutes.  There will be an reception after that where cake and punch will be served. More information will be emailed to inductees.
