Peer Nutrition Education

Be a CWU Peer Nutrition Educator!

Are you passionate about nutrition and interested in helping your fellow Wildcat? Peer Nutrition Education (PNE) is a one-credit-per-quarter practicum that allows nutrition students the opportunity to get experience providing nutrition education and counseling to CWU students. PNE is supervised by nutrition professor Dr. Stendell-Hollis and two registered dietitian graduate students. The goal of PNE is to provide quality, evidence-based education to the Wildcat community to improve health and broaden clients' nutrition knowledge.

To be an educator, one must be an undergraduate student in the Food Science & Nutrition Major, or a graduate student in the Master of Science in Nutrition program. Many educators are aspiring dietitians and experience with this program may help when applying for dietetic internships. Students must apply, interview, and be selected to participate in the program; spaces are limited. Applications will be dispersed during Spring quarter in nutrition department classes.
