Tonight (Monday, January 13) KYVE 47 will present the next episode of CWU On Stage.
During the hour-long performance, the Central Washington University Wind Ensemble will perform “Wedding Dance” by Jacques Press (1903-1985), featuring guest conductor Wayne Bennett; “Overture and Three Dances” from Prodaná nevěsta (The Bartered Bride) by Bedřich Smetana (1824-1884), with Adrienne Shields, conductor; “Miniatures” by Sulkhan Tsintsadze (1925-1991), performed by the Kairos String Quartet; and Sonata op. 6 by Samuel Barber (1910-1981), performed by John Michel, cello, and Nikolas Caoile, piano.
The show was produced from live performances in the Jerilyn S. McIntyre Music Building’s Concert Hall and Recital Hall. The monthly Central On Stage showcases CWU’s nationally recognized Department of Music. It is a collaboration involving CWU Public Affairs and KYVE 47, which serves more than 250,000 viewers throughout central Washington.
