Tomlinson Stadium Gate to be Dedicated to Scott Wade

Central Washington University will hold a dedication ceremony on October 12 to name the northwest gate at Tomlinson Stadium after Vice President of University Advancement Scott Wade in tribute to his years of service and dedication to the university.

“Scott Wade was a great leader who cared deeply about Central Washington University,” said CWU President James L. Gaudino. “The naming of this gate is a fitting tribute to honor the support that Scott showed to students and the university and will carry his legacy long into the future at Central.”

The dedication ceremony will begin prior to the CWU Homecoming football game at 4:00 p.m. and is open for the public. The event will include the unveiling of the gate sign as well as remarks from Gaudino and CWU Athletic Director Dennis Francois.

“Scott’s impact on Central Washington University and the athletic department is sure to be seen for generations to come,” Francois said. “His hard work and commitment to the Wildcat Commons project embodies his passion to encourage people to invest in Central students and the university, and we are honored to name the northwest gate after him.”

Wade joined Central in 2012 and directed university efforts in development and alumni relations while also serving as executive director for the CWU Foundation. He passed away earlier this year while on vacation with his family.

“As a devoted member of the Wildcat family, Scott always worked to foster inclusivity, genuine relationships, and above all, the success of Central students,” said CWU Associate Vice President of University Advancement Rick Paradis. “The naming of the Wade Gate is an appropriate way to honor the leader and supporter of Central that Scott was, and will always remind us of his passion for CWU.”
