Reminder: CWU Facilities to Hold Town Hall Meetings to Discuss Campus Construction and Maintenance Priorities


Representatives of Central Washington University’s Operations Division and Office of Business and Finance will host a pair of Town Hall discussions on campus infrastructure projects on May 30 and May 31.


The May 30 gathering will begin at 3 p.m. in the Samuelson Theatre, Room 104, while the May 31 discussion will begin at 9 a.m. in the Samuelson Theatre, Room 104. The town hall events will also be available to those who want to connect remotely, such as the Distance Education centers via Zoom meeting:

The purpose of the Town Hall meetings is to offer the campus community an opportunity to discuss how CWU sets priorities for campus construction and maintenance projects, including who decides how the money is spent and how projects become priorities.


Among those who will participate are Andreas Bohman, Vice President of Operations, Joel Klucking, Vice President of Business and Finance, and Shane Scott, Associate Vice President, Facilities Management and Campus Planning.


“The goal of these two Town Hall discussions is to provide faculty, students, and staff with an open forum to discuss how the university spends its construction and maintenance budgets and why,” Bohman said “Over the last bienniums, more than $100 million have been invested in these projects, so this is important to the entire campus."


Bohman said additional Town Hall discussions will be held in the fall. His hope is to host annual Town Hall meetings to keep the campus community informed about future construction and maintenance projects.


The first 25 people who attend the two events will also receive a coupon that can be redeemed for a drink at the 1891 Bistro.
