Nominations for Fourth Annual CWU Diversity Awards Being Accepted

Central Washington is seeking nominations for the CWU Diversity Awards, which recognize students, staff, or faculty, or community members who are committed to diversity and have contributed to effective change, demonstrated consistent engagement, and actively nurtured a supportive environment for inclusivity.

The awards, now in their fourth year, are a celebration of diversity sponsored by the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President of Inclusivity and Diversity.

"These awards are an opportunity for Central to spotlight individuals who best represent our university mission of being welcoming and belonging," said Veronica Gomez-Vilchis, Assistant Director of the Diversity and Equity Center, who is coordinating the event. "This is our way to thank them for their efforts and encourage them to continue supporting the goal of a diverse and inclusive environment."

To nominate a candidate, go to: www.cwu.edu/diversity/annual-diversity-awards-nomination. Nominators can submit up to three letters of support for a nominee.

Deadline for nominations is March 12, 2018. The winners will be honored at the annual Diversity Awards celebration on Thursday, April 19, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Student Union and Recreation Center Ballroom on the CWU campus.
