Men's Rugby Bucks Broncos 96-3

With over a month and a half between a 15's competition, the Central Washington University men's rugby team showed no signs of rust defeating Boise State University 96-3 Saturday afternoon in Boise, Idaho.

The Wildcats improve to 2-0 in 15's competition and hold the same record in the Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference.

"It's a good start to the season for the boys," CWU head coach Tony Pacheco said about his team's performance. "We definitely have some things we need to improve on."

At halftime the Wildcats held a commanding 50-3 advantage with Josh Bower and Clint Lemkus each finding the try zone twice in the frame.  The Wildcats totaled seven tries in the first half with Bowers making good on 6-of-7 conversions.

Central Washington kept right at it in the second half, where Vili Toluta'u scored three of his four tries of the day, each score coming within minutes of each other.  The staunch Wildcat defense held the Broncos scoreless in the second half.

Senior scrumhalf Daniel Conklin scored just once in the contest, but coach Pacheco praised his performance.  "Dan Conklin was really good for us today. He got us playing fast and kept pushing the pace of the game.

Up next, the Wildcats will travel to play Western Washington University next Saturday at 1 p.m.
