Mask Up and Maintain Adequate Spacing to Slow the Spread

The City of Ellensburg and Central Washington University remind everyone to wear a face covering both indoors as well as outside. Doing so while maintaining six feet of physical distancing will help ensure the health and safety of our community.

“The Ellensburg community has worked tirelessly during this epidemic to minimize exposure to COVID-19. Everyone is encouraged to continue to do their part,” said Ellensburg Mayor Bruce Tabb.

Experts acknowledge that wearing face coverings is one of the most effective ways to keep the virus from spreading. Proper use is essential. A cloth face covering should cover your mouth and nose and be worn while maintaining physical distancing.

The City and CWU have launched a city-wide campaign to illustrate the importance of face coverings as essential to safeguarding each other in all settings.

“Our very success to keep the campus open and our community safe rely on each of us doing our part to practice and model healthy behaviors, while we encourage our friends, family, and employees to do the same,” said CWU President James L. Gaudino.

Thank you for doing your part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask inside buildings or in outdoor spaces.
