Farmer finishes marathon, raises money for CWU student-athletes

Weaving through the streets of downtown Boston, running up and down hills, Gail Farmer [CWU equal opportunity and professional development administrator] rated the marathon spectators a constant 7 on a 1-10 loudness ranking.
That was until someone with one or two prosthetic legs, a blind person with a guide or any other runner in an inspiring situation passed the crowd.
"Then it went up to a 12," she said. "It was non-stop encouragement and cheering."
Farmer ran the 118th Boston Marathon on April 21, a year after two bombs exploded in the 2013 race, killing three and injuring more than 250 runners and spectators.
