CWU Students Engage With Top CEOs

Central Washington University students had the rare opportunity to hear from two of the nation's top chief executive officers during a recent CEO Speakers Series sponsored by the CWU Foundation.
A select group of student leaders from across campus met with CWU alumna Christine Day, former CEO of Lululemon Athletica and current CEO of the food company Luvo; and Cashmere, Washington native, Hoby Darling, the president and chief executive officer of Skullcandy, the original performance and youth culture audio and gaming brand. The visiting CEOs spoke with Central students during interactive classroom sessions and workshops, sharing their real-world experiences and lessons learned from the board room.
“The Central experience is built upon opportunities that expose our students to the thought and innovation leaders of our day,” said CWU President James L. Gaudino. “We celebrate and learn from the success of these dynamic CEOs, while at the same time empowering and encouraging our students to pursue their own pathways of greatness.”
Scott Wade, vice president of University Advancement and executive director of the CWU Foundation, added, “We were delighted to have these distinguished members of our President’s Advisory Board here on campus to engage with our students and faculty. These are world class leaders who are pushing the envelope in their respective industries and we're honored and inspired by their continued partnership with us.”
