CWU Football Ranked 22nd in Sporting News Preseason Poll

The Central Washington University football team is ranked 22nd in the Sporting News preseason NCAA Division II football poll released in the magazine's most recent publication.
The Wildcats are the highest ranked team in the GNAC with Azusa Pacific grabbing the 25th spot in the poll.
"It is always a exciting to see your name in the polls," CWU Head Coach Ian Shoemaker said. "With the amount of talent we had returning at the end of last season it is no surprise to me that we get recognized in the top 25. Now we have to go out, play the games and prove that we are among the top 25 teams in America."
The Wildcats will get that chance in their first game of the season when they play defending NCAA Division II champions Colorado State-Pueblo -- who is ranked 3rd -- in the first game of the season on Sept. 5.
