CWU Brings Critically Acclaimed Writer Jac Jemc to Ellensburg Campus

Award winning writer Jac Jemc will present a craft talk and reading as part of the 2018 Lion Rock Visiting Writers series on Tuesday, May 15.
Jemc will read from her work from 6:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m. in the CWU Museum of Culture & Environment. Earlier in the day, she will give a craft talk titled “Prioritizing Practice and Play" from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Science II, room 101 (Planetarium).
Both events are free and open to the public. Her books will be available for sale courtesy of the CWU Wildcat Shop following the 7:00 event.
Jemc is the author or editor of The Grip of It (Farrar, Straus & Giroux), My Only Wife (Dzanc Books), A Different Bed Every Time (Dzanc Books) and a chapbook of stories, These Strangers She’d Invited In (Greying Ghost Press).
Jemc's nonfiction has been featured on the long list for Best American Essays and her story "Women in Wells" was featured in the 2010 Best of the Web anthology. She has been the recipient of two Illinois Arts Council Professional Development Grants, and was named as one of 25 Writers to Watch by the Guild Literary Complex and one of New City's Lit 50 in Chicago.
Additionally, she has taught English and Creative Writing at the University of Notre Dame, Northeastern Illinois University, Loyola University Chicago, Lake Forest College, Illinois Wesleyan University, Story Studio Chicago, and The Loft Literary Center. She currently serves as web nonfiction editor for Hobart.
