Acclaimed Comedian Cristela Alonzo Headlines CWU Homecoming Entertainment

Tickets are still available for comedian Cristela Alonzo, Central Washington University’s 2018 Homecoming entertainer.
Alonzo, who was the first Latina in television history to create, produce, and star in her own network TV sitcom (“Cristela”), will perform on Friday, October 12, at 8 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) on the CWU campus.
“We’re very fortunate to have someone who has been so successful in comedy appear during Homecoming this year,” noted Robbi Goninan, assistant director of campus activities at CWU. “She’s smart, she’s funny, and she’s a rising star, and I think anyone who appreciates comedy will enjoy her performance.”
Alonzo has also appeared regularly on "Conan" with Conan O’Brien, worked crowds on Comedy Central specials, and shared the stage with fellow comedians at the annual “Comics for a Cause” charity event. She even voiced the spunky “Cars 3” character, Cruz Ramirez.
Alonzo currently stars in her Netflix special, “Lower Classy.” Her Homecoming event is open to the community, and tickets may be purchased at www.cwu.edu/tickets. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m.
