Title: An introduction to Quiver Representations Speaker: Danny Lara, Ph.D.
Abstract: A central problem of representation theory is to classify the representations of a given algebra. In this talk, we will define quivers and quivers representations and show how they relate to k-algebras. We will present some classical results from representation theory that relate to the central problem. If time permits, we will present a geometric perspective on quiver representations. For the first half of the talk, a background in calculus is sufficient. For the second half, a background in linear algebra will be sufficient. However, I will try to make the talk as accessible as I can for all students.
Wednesday February 8, 2023 at 4 pm in SAMU 252. There will be snacks (but not drinks) for those attending in person.
