Student Media Information

If your department, club, or organization wants to promote a program, sale, or event, the Communication Department's student media branches offer a variety of channels to spread the word to the CWU campus community.

The Observer is our campus go-to for current information on what's happening at CWU. The  popularity and longevity of our student-produced newspaper make it a great choice for spreading your news to students, faculty and staff on CWU's main campus. In today's technologically advanced world, you might also consider advertising in the Observer Online or in Pulse, our student-run lifestyle e-zine, helping you to reach a broad and diverse audience that is not geographically bound to our campus locale.

The Observer publishes on Thursdays weekly. October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, November 7, 14, 2, December 5, January 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27, March 6, 13, April 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, June 5 & 26.

2013-14 Publication Dates

Campus clubs and organizations are welcome and encouraged to apply to be clients with the Communication Department's student-run PR firm, Central Communication Agency for assistance with event planning, publicity, social media, marketing and branding.

If you are looking for a team to shoot video footage and/or to provide a recording of your meetings or events, consider contracting with CATtv to produce your video coverage. From creating a 30 second clip to covering an all day meeting, CATtv can help.

Don't forget to catch Newswatch, CWU's own student-produced weekly local news broadcast. Plays Thursdays at 4pm on channel 2 and is replayed at 7pm and 11pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday on channel 14.
