The Power of Muscle: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Understanding Muscle Plasticity
The next Natural Science Seminar is fast approaching -- Wednesday, April 16th from 4:00-5:30 in Science 147. This is a special seminar, hosted by the CWU Department of Nutrition, Exercise & Health Sciences. Dr. Scott Trappe (Ball State University) and Dr. Jared Dickinson (Arizona State University) will be speaking on "The Power of Muscle: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Understanding Skeletal Muscle Plasticity."
Muscles constitute 40 to 50 % of a person’s body weight and have the ability to change in response to a variety of stimuli . Come and join a lively presentation on how muscle adapts to various stimuli like physical activity, aging, nutritional status, and extreme environmental conditions such as an antigravity environment experienced during space flight.
Refreshments will be served starting at 3:45. All are welcome! Please feel free to post the attached flyer.
n addition, there will be a Meet and Greet, particularly for those students interested in a career in exercise physiology and related fields, to talk to Drs. Dickinson and Trappe on April 17th at 10:00am in Purser Hall, Rm. 114.
The Natural Science Seminar Series is sponsored by the CWU Department of Biological Sciences and the College of the Sciences. Visitor parking permits are available to community members who would like to attend. Please contact the Biological Sciences Dept. at (509) 963-2731 by 12:00 on the day of the seminar to make arrangements.
