Beauty Mark: Body Image and the Race for Perfection film screening Thursday
How far would you go in the pursuit of perfection? In honor of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, the CWU Nutrition Science Club presents a free screening of “Beauty Mark: Body Image and the Race for Perfection” Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Theatre. This event is free and open to the public.
The film takes a look at our culture's obsession with weight and the struggle to reach physical perfection though the eyes of former world-class tri-athlete Diane Israel. Don’t miss this educational and very rare documentary as Israel discusses her own struggle with eating disorders and obsessive exercising as she comes to terms with America’s unhealthy fixation on unrealistic ideals of beauty.
