Please see below for important information from the Office of University Student Research (OUR):

The OUR Winter grant cycle will open on January 3rd, and grant proposals will be accepted through 5pm on January 31st. Questions? Email our@cwu.edu.
How to SOURCE
We held the inaugural How to SOURCE event in November, and would love to see even more folks attend the next event in January! How to SOURCE is a research resource fair for students who are interested in or are already conducting research here at CWU. Food and snacks are provided, and we will have staff, faculty and students on-hand ready to share information about research funding, publishing opportunities, oversight organizations (HSRC and IACUC), presentation preparation, how to find a mentor, and details about prepping for and participating in SOURCE. The upcoming How to SOURCE event is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31st from 2:00pm to 4:30pm in the Brooks Library on the second floor (student commons).
SOURCE
SOURCE is CWU’s annual Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression, and we are so excited for this year’s events! SOURCE is scheduled over the course of two days – Wednesday, May 17th and Thursday, May 18th. This year we will be incorporating more live performances, re-introducing student poster sessions, and adding a faculty research highlight aspect to the event as well. Faculty, staff and students are highly encouraged to participate in both days of SOURCE, and a more detailed agenda and timeline will be provided as soon as it is available to allow for advance planning.
SOURCE Abstracts
This year, SOURCE presentation abstracts will be due on April 4th, 2023. The process and abstract requirements will be the same as last year. However, this year the SOURCE Committee will be reviewing submissions to ensure proper grammar, spelling, and clarity; submissions that require edits will be sent back to the student to complete the edits prior to being accepted for inclusion in the program.
For all things OUR and SOURCE, the web pages (www.cwu.edu/undergrad-research/) are being updated over the Winter break to ensure that information is accurate and available to our students when they return next week. We are hopeful that faculty and staff will discuss research and the SOURCE events with your students and encourage them to participate! Please let us know if you have any questions, or if there is any additional information that we can provide to help facilitate those conversations (our@cwu.edu).
Thank you, and have a wonderful rest of your break!
