New course! ASP 452 Media Portrayals of Disability
ASP/COM 452/552 Media Portrayals of disability
You need many abilities to live independently, and each of those abilities varies—that’s normal. Life happens! Everyone experiences chronic, temporary, or situational limitations of abilities— but we have a right to live our lives as independently as possible.
Disability is just part of a whole identity, but often media portrays it in one-dimensional ways -- or worse, in distorted ways. Come discuss common misconceptions and exclusions found in games, commercials, dramas, and the news.
This course is cross-listed with the Communications Department.
This 4-credit course is online with synchronous meetings Wednesdays 4:30 – 5:20 PM —either join the conversation or watch the recording.
